"Word of mouth is way more important than millions of dollars spent marketing.” - Isaac Hanson

Survey after survey and study after study arrive at the same conclusion. Simply put, most people who attend church for the first time come because someone personally invited them. And most people who trust Christ as their personal Savior and Lord did so because a friend, relative, neighbor, or co-worker introduced them to Jesus and explained the plan of salvation.

Years ago, I had a friend ask me if I would visit their relative in the hospital and share the gospel with them. I agreed, but not before suggesting that their loved one would probably be far more receptive to them than to me, a complete stranger.

The problem is that far too many Christians think it is the exclusive job of the “professionals” – pastors, evangelists, and missionaries – to witness to unbelievers. WRONG! As I often tell people who think that way, “If you know enough to be saved, you know enough to lead someone else to saving faith in Christ.” Period… no excuses.

My friend, you don’t need to be a Doctor of Divinity to understand and share the gospel message. Simply tell others about what God has done in your life and how He would love to do the same in theirs.

In other words, the most effective Christians are the most infectious ones. Their faith is so contagious that others can’t help but catch it!
