Just Ask Chris and Rachael

“The greater the time of waiting, the greater impact God will make through your life.” – Os Hillman
It is a well-known and well-accepted axiom that “anything worth having is worth waiting for.” If you don’t think it’s true, I have a story to tell you that might convince you otherwise.
Over the past 10 years or so, our son Chris dated a number of young ladies, some of them seriously. To his credit, they were all Christians, but for whatever reason those relationships never quite worked out. A bit discouraged as he approached his 30th birthday, Chris wondered aloud why God hadn’t provided him with a suitable helpmate.
Then he met Rachael.
Rachael is from Nigeria and traveled to the United States on a student visa to get her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Because of Covid, she was not permitted to go back home, even to visit her parents, lest she not be allowed back into the U.S. And so, she landed a job with the Indian River State College and waited, just like Chris.
In His perfect timing, God brought these two fine Christian young people together and earlier this month, they celebrated their first wedding anniversary. One look at their faces tells you that they couldn’t be happier.
My friend, God knows what you want and what you need. He will always provide for your needs as long as you are walking in close fellowship with Him. And from my personal experience, He often grants you your wishes too… when they are in accordance with His perfect will for your life.
If you don’t believe me, just ask Chris and Rachael!
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31 (BSB)
“Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!” Psalm 27:14 (BSB)
