Jesus Is the Cat's Pajamas

I recently saw a snippet from the iconic TV show, Happy Days, that featured Richie Cunningham (played by Ron Howard) and Fonzie (portrayed by Henry Winkler). Like so many of my fellow Baby Boomers, I grew up watching Happy Days throughout its 11-year run, from 1974 to 1984, that included 255 half-hour episodes.
In this particular scene, Richie was being prevented from playing in the high school championship basketball game by some teenage thugs from a rival school. While the game was in progress, Richie was being held prisoner inside Arnold’s Drive-in… until, that is, Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli shows up.
Fonzie confronts the thugs, scaring them off while warming up for a 4-against-1 fight by breaking down two bathroom doors with a single punch each. He then claims his prize, which is a slow dance with a pretty girl from the rival school, while Richie heads off to play in the big game.
I don’t know about you, but I would love to have a cool friend like Fonzie whose mere presence offers unlimited protection from the evil forces around me. But then again, I do have such a cool Friend… and so do you if you know Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord.
Whereas I doubt that Jesus wears a leather jacket in heaven, He can still send our enemies running for cover at the snap of a finger… the utterance of a single word… or the expression of a single thought. Yes, Jesus wants to be the divine Hero of every episode of your life. All it takes is repenting of your sins and placing your faith and trust in Him.
Fonzie may be cool, but Jesus is the real Cat’s Pajamas!
