Is Static Interfering with Your Heavenly Communication?

“God’s sheep do hear His voice (John 10:27), but some of His sons and daughters have their frequencies clogged up with many worries and distractions.” – Os Hillman

When I am driving in my car, I usually listen to conservative talk radio. If it’s between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Glenn Beck is on the air. From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, it’s Dan Bongino’s turn to talk. After that, Sean Hannity takes over from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

However, there are times when I am traveling and I can’t tune into Newsradio 1490 WTTB out of Vero Beach, perhaps because it is an AM station. Whenever that happens, I simply switch over to Sirius radio, which operates via satellite. That means wherever I go in the U.S. (or I suppose elsewhere), I can tune into Siriously Sinatra (Channel 70) and hear the voices of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and a host of other crooners.

If Deanna is in the car, we often listen to Willie’s Roadhouse on Channel 61, which features classic country songs by artists like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, and Patsy Cline. It doesn’t get much better than that!

In today’s quote, Os Hillman points out the problem we often have with our spiritual reception. God is wanting to communicate with us, but the static created by worry and other distractions makes it hard to “tune Him in”.

The antidote is simple. I Peter 5:7 reads, “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” If you do that, I promise that your heavenly reception will come through loud and clear!

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:33-34 (BSB)
