Is Dale Moving to Anchorage?

"Heaven and Christ are the same thing. To be with Christ is to be in heaven, and to be in heaven is to be with Christ.” – Samuel Rutherford
I hate cold weather with… a… passion. It seems to seep into every crack and crevice of my body.
Conversely, I love feeling the warm sun on my face, my back, and every other part of my aging body. In fact, the older I get, the more I despise the cold and embrace the warmth. After all, warm weather allows me to golf and fish 12 months of the year.
And yet, as much as I hate bitter temperatures, I love my family more. That means should our three wonderful children and our six precious grandchildren decide to move to Alaska, I will be on the next plane to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, or Nome.
The bottom line is that I want to be in very close proximity to the people whom I love the most.
As Samuel Rutherford, a 17th century Scottish pastor and theologian, said in today’s quote, what makes heaven “heaven” is the presence of Jesus Christ. Charles Spurgeon, the 19th century British pastor and theologian, echoed that same sentiment in the following statement.
"O my Lord Jesus Christ, if I could be in heaven without you, it would be a hell; and if I could be in hell, and have you still, it would be a heaven to me, for you are all the heaven I want."
Not all the harps above
Can make a heavenly place,
If God His residence remove,
Or but conceal His face.
“Yet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last, He will take His stand on the earth. “Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I will see God, Whom I, on my part, shall behold for myself, And whom my eyes will see, and not another. My heart faints within me!" Job 19:25-27 (NASB)
