“A gun is made to be fired. Prayer exists to defeat the enemy's work.” - Os Hillman

I never owned a gun until I moved to Florida, which is now a concealed carry state. However, my first gun purchase wasn’t because I relocated from New Jersey, but because of the direction America seems to be heading.

Pick up a newspaper or turn on the evening news and all you seem to see is story after story of rampant crime on the streets. Smash and grab thieves, looters, car jackers, and hooligans of every conceivable shape and size are committing crimes at a record pace… and seemingly without being caught let alone held responsible.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the George Floyd tragedy, Progressives have been calling for police departments across the country to be defunded and even disbanded. And so, I figured that it was up to me to protect my family, my property, and my person by exercising my Second Amendment rights.

The Bible is very clear that Satan has one purpose: to steal, kill, and destroy (see John 10:10 below). He also roams to and fro, seeking to devour anyone and everyone in his path (I Peter 5:8). That being the case, why would you not defend yourself by utilizing the #1 means of personal spiritual protection available: P-R-A-Y-E-R?

In the same manner, the Apostle Paul urges us to “put on the whole armor of God’ so that we can “stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). When we do, Scripture tells us that he will flee like the coward he is (James 4:7). Kind of like a burglar when he hears the pump action of a 12-gauge shotgun.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.” John 10:10 (BSB)
