Don't Worry... God's Got This!

“You can be a believer yet act as though there is no God. Whenever you fret over life circumstances, you immediately demonstrate unbelief. Whenever you move out of fear or anxiety, you believe a lie about God's nature. Each day your actions affirm or convict you of your belief system. They reveal who the central focus of your life really is - you or God. They also reveal who you place your ultimate trust in - you or God. It is one of the great paradoxes for believers. One day we can believe Him to move mountains. The next day we can question His very existence.” – Os Hillman
It is a trap that every believer falls into from time to time…
We profess genuine faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and commit our eternal soul to His care and safekeeping. And then, we get blindsided by life and start fretting over temporal matters that – in the light of eternity – are inconsequential at best.
My friend, if the God who created and maintains the universe is holding you in the palm of His hand (see John 10:28-29), you are safe and secure beyond measure. Likewise, if our Heavenly Father knows our needs and promises to meet them abundantly (see Matthew 6:25-34 and John 10:10), we can rest easy in the midst of life’s tempests and trials.
Trust me; I am reminding myself of these precious truths as much as I am reminding you, because I can get wrapped up in… and distracted by… this world’s cares as easily as the next person. That doesn’t mean it’s right, it just means that you and I are human.
Take heart, my friend, Jesus will never leave you or forsake you (see Hebrews 13:5). And so, whatever you are dealing with or struggling with today, please remember that you are not alone. Give it over to God, draw a deep breath, and R-E-L-A-X.
God’s got it… and He’s got you, too!
“You, O LORD, are our Father; Our Redeemer from everlasting is Your name.” Isaiah 63:16b (NKJV)
