Don't Give an Inch

“Ultimate truth matters ultimately.” – R.C. Sproul

Call me naïve or call me a Pollyanna… just don’t call me late for dinner. And most of all, don’t ever – and I mean EVER – call me someone who doesn’t believe the Bible from cover to cover.

Genesis 1:1 states that, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” I believe that truth 100%. Revelation 22:20 reads, “Surely I am coming quickly” and I believe that, too. In fact, I believe each and every verse in between.

In this day and age, when professors and pundits will try to convince you that all truth is relative, I vehemently disagree. God’s Word is absolute Truth and Jesus, who is the Word in the flesh, is absolute Truth, too (see John 1:14 and John 14:6).

My friend, when it comes to defending God’s Word, don’t give an inch… a centimeter… or any other type of human measurement. Hold fast and do not waver.

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17 (NKJV)

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 (NKJV)

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18-19 (NKJV)
