“I long for the day of Christ’s return. His judgment will show no favoritism and we will be held accountable for what we have done in a consummately fair and just way. Punishment will be meted out by God, as will rewards… If you are discouraged by recent events with our corrupt legal system, take heart. Remember Jesus was crucified and horribly tortured, though He was as innocent and pure as a newborn lamb. He knows how injustice feels better than anyone. He is with us and not against us and one day will put everything in its proper order and put an end to corruption, favoritism, and good ol’ boy back room deals among other things.” – Bob Williamson

Even the most casual observer of current events – and politics in particular – has to shake their head over the two-tiered justice system in America that seemingly targets conservatives and people of limited means while allowing liberals, the rich, and the powerful to get off scot-free. Meanwhile, a former president is endlessly hounded by the press and the Department of Justice while our current president’s financial ties to China, Russia, and Ukraine go unreported by everyone but FOX News, the NY Post, and a handful of other media outlets. What gives?

Whereas I get as upset as anyone else – probably more so – about the double-standard when it comes to holding people accountable and meting out justice, I take great solace… and yes, more than a little satisfaction… knowing that someday the scales of justice will be balanced by the Only True Judge. Believers will stand before Him at the Judgment Seat of Christ where rewards will be issued, and we will have to give an account for our earthly actions (ugh!) Thankfully, Romans 8:1 assures us that “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” And so, my best guess is that after a few words of admonishment, Jesus Himself will wipe away any remaining tears (see Revelation 21:4) before welcoming us home for eternity.

For the unsaved and unrepentant, however, the Great White Throne Judgment awaits… and it won’t be pretty. After failing to find their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life, Jesus will banish these sinners from His presence and into the Lake of Fire forever and ever. What a horrible scene!

My friend, let’s not get discouraged by this world’s many injustices. Instead, let us try to live righteously while simultaneously warning as many people as possible about the error of their ways… and their impending judgment. Keep shining Jesus’ light in this dark and dying world, and snatch as many souls from the pit of hell as you can.

“For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.” Isaiah 30:18b (NKJV)

- Rev. Dale M. Glading, President
